Just a reminder, the pattern is available from Laura Siegele on Etsy. She calls the pattern, “Ring Cycles”. We have the plexiglass templates for the hex and the triangle for $9.95. Once classes start again, Cindy will be doing some “tips and tricks” demos so that you can have a Jack’s Chain of your own. In the meantime, start looking on Pinterest for color ideas and start cutting strips for your nine patches.
Hello Everyone,
We are still sewing. It’s not quite time for yard work, but it won’t be long now. I have tomato seeds sprouting in my sunroom, getting them ready for our church plant sale in May. Daffodils are sprouting. I planted 200+ bulbs this fall, so I go out every day and take a look. I’ve been working on a natural area for about 10 years, so it’s gotten pretty big.
My Kinda Town came back from Laura as well.

I finished the paperwork for Sassy Snowfolks. $19.95. It is ready to mail out.
I finished this Hats quilt. It’s an old Buggy Barn pattern. It’s one of those designs where you stack up fat quarters, cut on the lines, shuffle the layers and start sewing and trimming. I’ll add some more yo-yos when it’s quilted. It’s been sitting in a bag, patiently waiting for at least 15 years. This week I’m working on a bag of Paris Flea Market. This fabric group was printed before we closed the store in 2006. I’ll show you my progress next week.
As I’ve told you, Cindy has been restoring her sewing space, after having an old chimney torn out of the room.

Here are a few scrap quilts to give you some ideas.
Birds in the Air?
This is an old quilt. I love the “make do” changes in the background.
Same effect. The background fabric has changed. They ran out of what they started with.
Scrap quilt tips – Some of you love scrap quilts. Some of you are intimidated by the process. The truth is – you have to use up some of those left over pieces or they will run you out of your house. And there is a lot of money tied up in your stash. I’m all about buying more fabric, but sometimes you just have to get in there and start cutting up your old stuff. Did you know that making a scrap quilt is actually housework? Cleaning out scraps is cleaning. Period.
You have to organize your fabric so that it is easy to get access. My fabrics are in file boxes. They are organized by color. Reds in a box(es). Blues in a box, etc. These boxes are small enough to pick up and carry around. Beware putting your fabric in BIG storage tubs. You can never find the bottom of those.
