Blue Ribbon by Fig Tree and Co. $9.50 for the pattern.
Spring. Cleaning.
That’s what we’ve been doing. I’m working on some out buildings and you know if you want to move 1 thing, you have to move 10 things to make room for it. Every year, our big project is The Yard Sale at our church. The money we raise is used for college scholarships. We’ve been going through boxes of other people’s stuff. Cleaning and pricing. The effort is worth it. Last year we awarded several thousand dollars in scholarships. In addition to the yard sale, each year our members who garden bring wonderful plants, flowers and vegetables, ready to plant in your garden. We will add more information when we know the dates.
Save the Date for our “Show and Tell” Event
Friday, April 9 and Saturday. April 10, 2021
We are going to have a big “Show and Tell” event. Bring all the quilts and quilt tops that you have made. Bring a yard chair. We’ll be outside at the barn. Assuming that the weather cooperates, it should be a fun day. (If the weather is cold or rainy, we’ll reschedule) We’ll have coffee and muffins. We’ll still be careful. We’ll be respectful of space. We’ll do another event later if you are not comfortable being out yet. Plan to arrive about 10ish and we’ll start the Show and Tell at 11ish. It will be helpful if you let us know if you are coming, but a reservation is not required.
If you would like to bring items for the yard sale, we will gladly accept them. We are looking for basic household items like sheets and towels and kitchen items. We sell a lot of old suitcases. Please do not bring random electronics.
Call Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything or make an appointment to shop. Taxes and shipping will be added to orders. Remember, we do not have a shopping cart on our website. If you need us for anything, call and make a shopping appointment.

Scrap quilt tips – Last week we talked about organizing your fabric so you can get to it. I’ve heard a lot of people say, “It’s easier to buy it, than to look for it in my stash”. But that’s another conversation.
So let’s say you are starting to pull fabric for a scrap quilt. You have decided on a theme, like antique, bright, or patriotic. Simply said, “What’s important is whether a fabric is light or dark”. Sort your fabric into 2 piles. A light pile and a dark pile. If you can’t decide which pile it goes in, save it for another quilt. Strong contrast between your fabric is what makes a successful scrap quilt.
Come to see us this week. Bring what you are working on to show us. Call Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything or make an appointment to shop.
