Star Chain is our class in AugustHello Everyone,
We’ve had a busy week, but not much sewing got done. We are still picking blueberries and getting tomatoes in the freezer. We got a lot of paperwork done on our shows in January. We are getting a bit of a late start, but now that things are moving again, we can pull it together.Quilting Class this Month
Above is the class sample for our next class. We have named this one Star Chain. Dates are Friday, August 20 OR Saturday, August 21, 2021. Traditional piecing techniques will be covered. Make this quilt scrappy or planned. This can be a two color quilt, as shown, or pick out a multicolor border and do the interior in bright, scrappy colors. The sample is 2 colors but Cindy used 12 different brown prints of the same value. Some had subtle prints with additional colors (red flowers/geometrics). The background is all one fabric but you could use several fabrics of the same value. All the star points are the same fabric.
We have a Star Chain kit available. Kit includes all the fabrics for the quilt top, the printed border, as shown, and fabric for binding. 98″ X 98″, $159.00. As noted below, if you order this week we are offering free shipping.Class starts at 10 am and finishes about 4 pm. The classes will be held at Cool Spring Methodist Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40. As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day. Bring a sandwich or a covered dish and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea. There is always plenty to share.
To register for the class, call Cindy Page, 704-376-2531 to reserve your space, then mail checks payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013. This class is $38.00. Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class. A supply list/cutting instructions and directions to the venue will be emailed to you upon registration.
Bring something for “show and tell”. If you need a tractor trailer truck to get all your quilts here, that will be fine. We will start the class “Show and Tell” at 1:30ish. Everyone is invited to the class “Show and Tell” whether you are taking the class or not. You might want to squeeze in a little shopping time as well.
We will do some more “Show and Tell” events during our classes and during the All Carolina Shop Hop dates in the fall. (It will be cool enough to be outside by then.)
Call or text Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything, or make an appointment to shop. Taxes and shipping will be added to orders. Remember, we do not have a shopping cart on our website. If you need us for anything, call and make a shopping appointment.
Small Shops
I love small shops like Mary Mae’s, in Spencer where we took our barn quilt painting class. I love that someone has the guts to go out and take a chance and work hard. Do you know of any unique shops in your town? Where do you love to shop? Or eat? Let me know. Cindy and I might take a road trip. Email me at [email protected].
This week I heard from Michelle, that she loves Sadies of Stokesdale. 8406 US Hwy. 158, Stokesdale, NC. 336-643-5123. [email protected]. Sadiesofstokesdalenc.com. Sadies offers a selection of bath products, teas, lotions and other things to pamper yourself.
Shopping Time
You can always make an appointment to shop in the barn for any time that suits you by calling Cindy at the number above. We’re available almost any time. We would love to see you. Call us if you need directions. We are located off I-40 between Statesville and Mocksville, NC.

We are so excited to be participating but even more excited to see all of you.”Also, one of our favorite vendors, Momma’s Kitchen Sweets, (Dorcas Troyer) will be there with her breads and baked goodies. 220 Cafe will also be onsite for delicious food. This event means so much to all the vendors. It’s been a long year for every business. We are thankful to have the opportunity to see you again.

Raffle Quilts
Let me say a little bit about raffle quilts….We are not having any raffle quilts at the September show. We are trying to keep things as simple as possible. You know what’s going on. You’ve been watching the news. However, if you want to be considered for a space in January, either in Statesville or Sanford, please let me know. Everyone wants a space. We are going to get all the requests and then do a drawing. That is the fairest way to decide which guild gets a spot. [email protected]
So far, I have requests from Cabarrus, Salisbury, Forsyth, Raleigh, Lincolnton, Mooresville Applique, Piedmont, and Kernersville. If your guild would like to be considered, please let me know by the end of September. All Carolina’s Shop Hop
One last thing, something new is coming this fall. During the months of October and November, we will be participating in the ALL CAROLINA’S SHOP HOP. This will incorporate shops all over NC and SC. Look for the page on Facebook. We will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during October and November. (Except the weekend of November 14, {we have a family wedding!} and Thanksgiving Day) All the details, like where to get your passports, will be available soon.
Call Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything or make an appointment to shop.
