Hello Everyone,
Showtime is almost here!  The Statesville Fall Quilting Marketplace is this Friday and Saturday.  It’s been so long since we have seen you!  All the vendors are ready to get back to work.  There will be lots of new fabrics and patterns.  New ideas! New inspiration!  New friends!

Let’s Stay Safe

Let’s face it.  Things are not the same.  We have to stay safe to protect ourselves and our families.

The Statesville Civic Center is under a
MASK MANDATE.

“The City of Statesville has announced that – effective Friday, August 27 – all persons (employees and the public) must wear a mask inside all City buildings – regardless of vaccination status.”  More info: https://bit.ly/3sQWCuz

This mask mandate is per the City of Statesville.  Please help us be safe by wearing a mask to the show.  We realize that both sides of this issue have strong feelings.  I don’t want to have a confrontation with anyone on either side of this mask/no mask debate.  I want to provide a safe environment for my vendors.  For many of us, this will be our first show in over a year and a half.  25% of my vendors are no longer in business.  We need this show.  This is our livelihood. We look forward to seeing you, and we really want to sell some fabric so we can pay for the new fabric that is coming in.

We are going to keep it simple.

Admission is $5.00.

You don’t have to print any coupons.  Please bring correct change to speed things up and decrease contact.
Afternoons are always the least crowded times.  Everyone comes in the morning and by mid afternoon the Civic Center has cleared out.
Our vendors are the best.  They work hard and love what they do. All the vendors have a special knowledge and expertise in their fields.  We look forward to getting back to work. Please share this info with your quilting friends. Help us spread the word.

“Sew Original is soooo excited to be one of your vendors at The Statesville Fall Quilting Marketplace on September 17th and 18th, 2021.  We will have many wonderful goodies to offer you – fabrics, quilt kits, patterns, books and notions.  We will have author         Lee Monroe in our booth signing her first book, Jump Into Sewing.
As we are a Bernina dealers, both Sew Original and Studio Stitch will feature a wide range of Bernina’s for you to play with in our booths.  We sell the full range of Bernina machines from the Bernettes to the Bernina Longarm machines.  September’s Promotion is Bernina’s Trade-In Event.  You can trade-in ANY machine for a new Bernina sewing, quilting, embroidery, or serving machine priced $999.00 up and get 25% off MSRP.  We are so excited to be participating but even more excited to see all of you.

Martha from The Cotton Quit sends this message…

“We are very excited to see you in Statesville in September!!  We will have many of the latest Christmas collections available for you along with the Caterpillar Light Boxes and the Featherweight Extension Tables.  Come see us there.”

Shay and Shawn from Schoolhouse Quilts send this message…
“Schoolhouse Quilts offers an extensive selection of quilting notions, from rulers and templates, cutting mats and rotary cutters; scissors; machine and hand needles, thimbles, pins, and threaders: sewing machine accessories; marking tools; irons and pressing aides; paper piecing supplies; gloves; and stencils.  We also offer quilting books, novels, and reference guides by over 1000 authors.”

Sally Wincze, one of our new vendors, will be selling her new book, Scottie’s Birds, 50 of his bird friends to embellish your quilts.  She will also have 2 new patterns in her line call, “Paint your Quilts”.

Also, one of our favorite vendors, Momma’s Kitchen Sweets, (Dorcas Troyer) will be there with her breads and baked goodies.
220 Cafe will also be onsite for delicious food.

This event means so much to all the vendors.  It’s been a long year and a half for every business. We are thankful to have the opportunity to see you again.

 September Quilting Class

Above is the class sample for our next class.  We have named this one Shooting Star. Dates are Friday, September 24 or Saturday, September 25, 2021. Traditional piecing techniques will be covered.  Make this quilt scrappy or planned. It’s a great quilt to use a lot of fabrics from your stash.  I used a lot of background fabrics, all mixed and matched. The more variety the better.
Class fee is $38.00. Class fee will include a handout.
Class starts at 10 am and finishes about 4 pm.  The classes will be held at Cool Spring Methodist Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40. As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day.  Bring a sandwich or a covered dish and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea.  There is always plenty to share.

To register for the class, call Cindy Page, 704-376-2531 to reserve your space, then mail checks payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013. This class is $38.00.  Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class. A supply list/cutting instructions and directions to the venue will be emailed to you upon registration.

Bring something for “show and tell”. If you need a tractor trailer truck to get all your quilts here, that will be fine. We will start the class “Show and Tell” at 1:30ish.  Everyone is invited to the class “Show and Tell” whether you are taking the class or not.  You might want to squeeze in a little shopping time as well.
We will not have any classes in October or November because of the All Carolina’s Shop Hop.  Our next class will be in February, 2022.

We will do some more “Show and Tell” events during our classes and during the All Carolina Shop Hop dates in the fall.  (It will be cool enough to be outside by then.)

We’ll see you this weekend.
Bring a friend, your credit card and your mask.

There will be hourly door prizes and each day at 3pm, Sew Original from Winston Salem and Studio Stitch from Greensboro will be giving away a Bernina Sewing machine.  (You must be present to win a machine.)  Arrive early.  Be one of the first 100 people in the door, and you will get an extra ticket to win all day long.
Cafe 220 will be there with their fabulous food and Troyer’s Bakery will have delicious baked goods.
