Radiant Suns designed by Doodle Press.  Pieced by Cindy Page.
Quilted by Cheri Edmonds.
Hello Everyone,
It’s just hot. The kind of hot that makes you want to sit in your recliner, under the ceiling fan and eat popsicles. We’ve been busy, but I can’t say that we have gotten much sewing done.  Sometimes you just need a little break.
However, there are lots of events coming up – A “Show and Tell” and “Antique Textile” lecture in Hudson, the Asheville Quilt Show, ANOTHER FABRIC YARD SALE and participating in Quilter’s of SC Fall event at Myrtle Beach.  So get out your calendars and save these dates.

I thought this one sounded like something that would be cool and refreshing
We will be presenting 2 lectures at the Hub Station in Hudson, NC on Friday, August 8, 2025. This is a great event in a fabulous facility.  There will be a quilt show and vendors. We will be doing a “Show and Tell” lecture of our quilts at 11am and a second “Show and Tell” lecture at 1pm featuring our collection of antique textiles. There will be shopping time for patterns and fabric packs in between.
The first lecture, which you might have seen at your guild meeting is full of color, design, tips and tricks for better quilts.  The second lecture is our secret passion, our collection of antique stitchery.  We’ll start in the early 1800’s and discuss 100+ years of sewing, cotton manufacturing,  and women’s fashions.  We’ll have lots of samples for you to look at.  It will be hands on examination of the incredible things that women have made with just a needle and thread.
We will be here with lots of new fabric packs and all sort of things to satisfy your creative shopping needs. After last year, do not miss this show.

Farm News
Runningtbeef.com
Most of you know that Cindy and I live on a farm that has been in our family for 5 generations.  We don’t know the first thing about a tractor but we know a good thing when we see it.  Josh and Brandi Teague are using our farm to raise locally grown 100% Grass Fed Beef.  This is the way farming should be done.  They don’t use antibiotics or hormones.  Pasture are regenerating under their watchful eye.
They ship beef all over the US.  Check out their website, or find them on Facebook or Youtube.

Mark your calendar for this fabulous shopping event!
Spend the day shopping for quilting fabrics, yarns for knitting, and wools for appliqué.  Books, patterns and notions will inspire you to create.  Shop for a new sewing machine or a long arm sewing machine.  Our vendors are quilt shops and knitting shops.  Some vendors dye their own fabrics and some “grow” their own yarns on their farms.  Some vendors design their own patterns and some just know where to order the “best stuff”.
There will be hourly door prizes and each day at 3pm, there will be a fabulous door prize.   (You must be present to win.)  Arrive early.  Be one of the first 100 people in the door, and you will get an extra ticket to win all day long.
220 Cafe  will be there with their fabulous food and Troyer’s Bakery will have delicious baked goods.

If you don’t like crowds, be advised afternoons are not as crowded as mornings and Saturday is not as crowded as Friday.
