The All Carolina’s Shop Hop starts in 10 days. That sounds like a long time, but we still have lots of work to do. We’ve been cleaning. We are at the point right now where everything is pulled out. There are lots of great big dust bunnies. It looks terrible. We are going to Washington, NC for a workshop tomorrow and then class this weekend, so that really just leaves us about 4 more days to get ready. Some of you have been to the barn, and you know what to expect. For some of you it will be a new experience. We are setting up a clearance section on the other side of the barn. There is no telling what you will find in there. Come and visit us and see if we pull it off.
August Events
Burgoyne Surrounded
Class dates for August are Friday, August 26 OR Saturday, August 27, 2022.
Burgoyne Surrounded is a traditional pattern using simple strip piecing techniques.
Skill level: confident beginner. Class fee is $38.00 and includes a handout.
The name of this quilt refers to a battle in the American Revolution when American soldiers surrounded and forced the surrender of British General Burgoyne and his 6000 soldiers. So many traditional quilt designs have a legend behind their names. It’s always interesting to read about the history behind the designs.
Easy piecing. It can be done in 2 fabrics, 2 colors and multiple fabrics or it can be multi-colored.
We do have queen size kits available using the fabrics shown above.
The border print is included. Size is 92″ x 92″. $159.95. Only 3 kits left.

Cindy made it look scrappy but she actually cut her strips from an ombre fabric.
Cindy made this one a long time ago. Just two colors will make a nice quilt. It’s even hand quilted.

Classes are held at Cool Spring UMC, 1902 Mocksville Hwy., Cleveland, NC 27013.
That’s about 6 miles east of Statesville on Hwy. 64.
Cindy will send a supply list when you register.
The church is easily accessible from I-40 or I-77.
Class will be from 10 am-4 pm but we have the church open by 9 am so you can get set up
and have a cup of coffee before we begin at 10 am.
As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day.
Bring a sandwich or a casserole and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea.
Be sure to bring your “show and tell” quilts. We love to see what you are working on.
Once you are registered, mail a check payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013. Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class.

September Events
The All Carolina Shop Hop will kick off September 1. Plan to kick off your shop hop with us. Passport magazines have arrived. We will be happy to reserve a copy for you. Passports are $9.95.
We want you to come see us in September. We will be giving away a Brother XR3340 Sewing Machine. This is a nice little machine that you can carry to class. It has 140 stitches and quilting and sewing feet are included. In order to win, you will register when you visit the barn from September 1 – 24, 2022.
We really want you to come that first weekend.
So, shop hoppers will get 4 chances to win from Sept. 1 – 3, 2022.
Shop hoppers will get 3 chances to win from Sept. 6 – 10, 2022.
Shop hoppers will get 2 chances to win from Sept. 13 – 18,2022.
Shop hoppers will get 1 chance to win from Sept 20 – 24, 2022. We will draw the winner on Sept. 24, 2022.
Don’t forget – we will be cleaning out a lot of clearance stuff, so shop early for the best deals. We are pulling out all our buttons and some really nice garment fabrics. These will be discounted.
Shop Hop Facts – We are located at 186 Page Farm Rd., Cleveland, NC. Yes, it really is on a farm. We will be open from 10am – 4 pm, Tuesday – Saturday. WE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAYS. We need one day to get our errands taken care of.
Diane Adams will be here with her shop, Empty Pockets Alpaca on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 11am – 4pm. and Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10am – 4pm. Diane features local alpaca products from Climax, NC. She caters to all the DIY yarn projects, or if you are shopping for early Christmas presents, EPAF offers ready made items! They offer alpaca socks, (so warm), hats, gloves, and all your other alpaca necessities.
Susan Edmonson will be here on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10 am – 4pm. Most of you are familiar with Susan’s beautiful embellishments. She’ll bring her beautiful threads and hand dyed fabrics. She is planning to do a couple of “show and tell” sessions. You will love to see her work up close. I’ll let you know the exact time a little later.
Quilt Shows in September
We will be open on Sunday, September 18, 2020 for the Shop Hop from noon until 4pm
We will not have a booth at the Sandhill’s show, but I know it will be a lovely show.
We will be closed September 25 – October 2, 2022 in order to prepare and attend the
Asheville quilt show.
October Events
All Carolina’s Shop Hop will be in full swing in October. Get your maps out to plan the best routes.
Featherweight Poppy will be here on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 10am – 4pm. John and Linda feature sales, parts and service for Singer 221 and 222K Featherweight sewing machines. Come on by, visit with John and share your featherweight stories. If you have ever thought about owning a featherweight, come and take a look. If you need to schedule a service, give John a call at 704.754.7387.
We will be closed Oct. 19 – 24, 2022 in order to pack, attend and unpack from the Hickory show.
