Hello Quilters,
Happy 4th of July. We hope you are getting in some fun time with your family.  And maybe just a little quilting time inside where it is cool.

Jack’s Chain will be our class in July.
Dates are July 26 or 27, 2024
Hello Quilters,
We had a lot of fun in June.  We had a successful show in Atlanta, had  2 great Boot Camp classes and and spent some time with guilds in Southern Pines and Rutherfordton.
Today is 4th of July.  It is hot everywhere so we hope you have found a cool place to relax.  We are headed to the church to cook hamburgers and hot dogs for our community.
Old Recipes
1927 Peanut Butter Bread
2 cups of flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/3 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1 1/2 cups of milk
Sift first 4 ingredients together, and then add the peanut butter.  Beat the mixture well. Now add milk.  Beat well.  Pour batter into a well-greased bread tin and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.  This recipe makes one large loaf or two small ones.
Blueberry Season

It’s blueberry season.  We will spend a lot of time this month at our cousin’s blueberry farm.  Come and pick with us!
Knox Blueberry Farm
458 Oak Forest Dr.
Statesville, NC
704-872-6115
Blueberries are easy to pick   Our cousin John will be happy to  welcome you to his farm.  The bushes are big, so you can pick standing up.  It takes about an hour to pick a gallon.  They are easy to freeze and are delicious in the wintertime.

July Schedule

Our July class will be Jack’s Chain.

Dates for this class are July 26 or 27, 2024.
The class fee is $38.00.  You will need the pattern and template – $29.95.  There is some class prep.  You will need to make some 9 patches prior to class.  That’s pretty easy and Cindy will send you info about that.

REMEMBER TO BRING SOMETHING FOR
“SHOW AND TELL”.

Class starts at 10 am and finishes about 4 pm but we’ll have the building open at 9:00 am so plan to arrive in time to have a cup of coffee and set up so we’ll be ready to start at 10:00 am.  The class will be held at Cool Spring Community Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40.

As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day.  Bring a sandwich, or your favorite recipe, and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea.  Quilters are good cooks too so there is always plenty to share.

To register for the class, call or text Cindy Page,
704-376-2531 to reserve your space, then mail checks payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013.   Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class. A supply list with directions to the venue will be emailed to you upon registration.

Also, bring some device that will take photographs of each step of the process.

July 16 and 17, 2024 we will be doing a program and a Curves workshop for the Asheville Quilt Guild.
July 19th and 20th, 2024 – We will be at the Electric City and Prickly Fingers Quilters Guild Show, Anderson Civic Center, Anderson, SC.

August Schedule

I changed my mind about August.  Fab Farm is our class in August.  This will be more like a support group than a class.
Dates are August 23 or 24, 2024.  Start collecting your fabrics, organizing and cutting.  $38.00 for the class.  $28.00 for the pattern.  Let me know if you need a pattern so I can get it in the mail.  There is a lot of cutting, so the sooner you start the better.  Here are my blocks so far.

September
Fruit Burst is our September class.  The dates will be September 13 or 14, 2024.  Details later.

Farm News

Runningtbeef.com

Most of you know that Cindy and I live on a farm that has been in our family for 5 generations.  We don’t know the first thing about a tractor but we know a good thing when we see it.  Josh and Brandi Teague are using our farm to raise locally grown 100% Grass Fed Beef.  This is the way farming should be done.  They don’t use antibiotics or hormones.  Pasture are regenerating under their watchful eye.
They ship beef all over the US.  Check out their website, or find them on Facebook or Utube.

Call Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything.
As most of you know, we are not a brick and mortar shop.  We are just a studio.

We are available by appointment.  Call us if you need directions.  We are located off I-40 between
Statesville and Mocksville, NC.
Our address is 186 Page Farm Road, Cleveland, NC  27013.
We are not anywhere close to Cleveland, NC, even though that is our mailing address.
