Hello Everyone,

Our January is always crazy, and this one has started out as usual.  We had a good show in Sanford.  I can’t say thank you too many times for all the support you show us.  We had a great time.  Everyone worked hard setting up their booths.  Some of the vendors were sick at the last minute and could not get there.  Some of the vendors were new to “show business”.  Then the weather….we left on Saturday night after packing up for The Myrtle Beach Quilt Party.  We arrived without any problems.  While most of you were watching snow flakes and sleet, we were watching crazy people in wet suits surf in the freezing ocean water.  We start our classes here on Thursday.  Cindy is teaching Jack’s Chain.  The quilters in her class are calling themselves “the chain gang”.  I’m teaching My Kinda Town.  We are going to have fun paper piecing for 3 days.
Attention all you quilters at the beach…We are at the Double Tree Resort, 3200 South Ocean Blvd., MB, SC. We are here with Schoolhouse Quilts. You are welcome to come shop with us in the conference center.  We will be open this Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am – 5pm.  We have lots of fabric and Schoolhouse has every notion ever made and books and books and books.

When we get home next week, we will unpack and repack everything for The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza in Statesville.

The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza in Statesville, NC

We can be safe and shop at the same time.  We will follow all the local guidelines.  Just like the NC guidelines, while it is not mandated, we recommend that you wear a mask while indoors.  I realize people have strong feelings about that.  I don’t want any confrontation about this.  The bottom line is, vendors need this opportunity to do their business.  We lost about 30% of our vendors during the last shutdown. Many won’t survive another shutdown. We encourage you to be as safe as you can.  If you are worried about crowds, it won’t be as crowded this year as usual. In addition, Saturday is never as crowded as Friday and afternoons are practically empty compared to mornings. Also, afternoons are when we give away the big door prizes.

Here’s some good news – Everyone is getting $1 off admission. $5 entry for everyone.  Just come.  You don’t have to print off anything for your discount.  Please have correct change available.
