Alaska by Edita Sitar is our class in February.

Hello Everyone,
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for attending our Extravaganza show in Statesville. We knew attendance would be up some over 2022, but we were overwhelmed by your enthusiasm.  On behalf of the vendors, we thank you for your purchases.  It’s always good to be able to pay your bills.  And to all the vendors, thank you for your hard work, moving in, setting up and moving out.
We have taken it sorta easy this week.  We put things away and did a little organizing for next year.  We also made a road trip to K&J Sewing and More in Rockwell, NC.  He had some Alexander Henry fabric that I wanted.  It’s a nice shop.  Lots of flannels and tons of conversationvsals.  He had a quilting machine humming away while we shopped.
We had lunch at Darrell’s BBQ. (Shout out to ours friends, Dwayne and Dana!).
Mark your calendars for next year.
The Quilting and Fiber Art Marketplace in Sanford, NC – Jan. 12 and 13, 2024.
The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza in Statesville, NC – Jan. 29 and 30, 2024.

Door Prizes!

Sew Original from Winston Salem, NC and Studio Stitch from Greensboro, NC gave away a
Series 3 Bernina sewing machine.  I failed to get the info about who won it.  But she was a happy girl!
On Saturday, we gave  away 3 prizes –  a basket full of goodies, a travel size Brother machine, and
Concord Sew and Quilt gave away a $300 shopping spree to a lucky visitor.

Jane Danyer went home with a nice little sewing machine.

Teresa Romzick went home with a big box of goodies.

Leah Barkley is with Belsy from Concord Sew and Quilt.  She won their gift certificate.

Our class dates for February are Feb. 24 or 25.  Cindy will be teaching Alaska.  It’s a pattern by Edita Sitar.

June class dates are Friday, Feb. 24 OR Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.  Class fee is $38.00.  You will need the pattern, ($15) and the templates, ($25).  We are working on blue and cream batik kits, as shown.  Get in touch with Cindy asap if you are interested.  This is a kaleidoscope with a twist.  Class will focus on building precision piecing skills.

Class starts at 10 am and finishes about 4 pm but we’ll have the building open at 9:00 am so plan to arrive in time to have a cup of coffee and set up, so we’ll be ready to start at 10:00 am.  The class will be held at Cool Spring Methodist Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40.

As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day.  Bring a sandwich, or your favorite recipe, and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea.  Quilters are good cooks too so there is always plenty to share.

To register for the class, call or text Cindy Page, 704-376-2531 to reserve your space, then mail checks payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013.   Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class. Our class dates for March are Friday, March 24 or Saturday, March 25. 2023. We are doing something a little different.  Stash Busters is going to be a series of quilts that are fairly simple to make.  They are designed to use up all the random fabrics that are in your stash.  Experienced quilters will be able to knock out a quilt top in no time.  Beginners will feel comfortable taking the class.  While others are sewing, we will spend time with you on basic skills like cutting, rulers, and sewing basics.  Maybe you have a friend that wants to quilt but other classes have been too advanced.  Stash Busters will be something you can do together.  I’ll have a picture very soon of the March quilt.  I almost finished the blocks, cutting and everything in one day.

Quilt Guilds

Have you ever googled your quilt guild?  Each year as we prepare for the shows, we try to mail out complimentary show tickets.  We think it’s fun for you and it’s a good way for us to spread the news about the shows.  Some guilds are easy to reach.  They have websites and PO Boxes.  However, some of you are the best kept secrets in the whole quilting world.  Take a look at your website.  Is there a “snail mail” address anywhere?  Or a contact person?  Should we send mail to the address of the location where you meet?  Sometimes we get tired of looking and just skip over you.  Google “quilt guilds in NC”.  A couple of sites will come up with an extensive list of guilds.  Is the info about your guild current?

Here are some of the guilds that we could not find online or their envelope was returned.  If you have any information about these guilds, please let us know.
