Big news!  Cindy won the Moda ribbon at the Asheville show.  Moda is one of the main sponsors at the show.  They get to pick their favorite quilt, and they picked Cindy’s Jack’s Chain.

Hello Everyone,
We are home from Asheville. We had a great time. We saw a lot of customers that we had not seen in a while.  All the quilts were fabulous.  All the AQG members worked so hard to make everything just right.  We appreciate  all their hard work.  We are so thankful that the weather was not as terrible as predicted.  Our thoughts are with those of you that did have some damage.
If you want to see the winning AQG show quilts, click HERE.

The All Carolina’s Shop Hop continues this week.  We were so inspired by all the quilts at the Asheville show that we have spent all day pulling fabrics for some new projects.  Photos and details will follow.

Don’t forget – we will be cleaning out a lot of clearance stuff, so shop early for the best deals.  We are pulling out all our buttons and some really nice garment fabrics.  We have set up  “yard sale area”.
Trims are $1.00 per yard.  Fabrics – several linens, silks and woolens are $5.00 per yard.
Shop Hop Facts – We are located at 186 Page Farm Rd., Cleveland, NC.  Yes, it really is on a farm. We will be open from 10am – 4 pm, Tuesday – Saturday.
WE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAYS.
We need one day to get our errands taken care of.

Please note special hours during the Hickory quilt show.

October Events
All Carolina’s Shop Hop will be in full swing in October.  Get your maps out to plan the best routes.
Featherweight Poppy will be here on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 10am – 4pm.  John and Linda feature sales, parts and service for Singer 221 and 222K Featherweight sewing machines.  Come on by, visit with John and share your featherweight stories.  If you have ever thought about owning a featherweight, come and take a look.  If you need to schedule a service, give John a call at 704.754.7387.

We will be closed Oct. 19 – 24, 2022 in order to pack, attend and unpack from the Hickory show.

November Class

Our November class is going to be “Boot Camp”.
Dates are November 4 or 5, 2022.
As we travel around and teach various workshops, we see a lot of you struggling with “the basics”.
This classwill cover fabric prep, fabric grain line, getting an accurate 1/4″ seam, 1/2 square triangles, flying geese, mitered corners and a few other things.  The class will be $55.00. This will include your handouts and all the precut fabrics for your sample construction.  You will need your machine, a 1/4″ presser foot, rotary cutter, mat and basic sewing supplies.
Let’s talk a bit about your 1/4″ foot.  So many of you struggle with an accurate seam allowance.  A lot of you have a 1/4″ foot with a side blade.  Please understand that that foot is for sewing “jelly rolls” or long strips of fabric.  It is not designed for precision piecing.  That side blade gets in the way when you need to pin things or sew over “dog ears”.  Sometimes you need to draw a line and sew on either side of the line. A foot with a guide will not let you do that. For precision work, you need a 1/4″ foot without a guide.  Most of you have small travel machines.  Most of these machines are “low shank”.  Ask your dealer or look on the internet for a general purpose 1/4″ foot.   They should be less than $20.
If you have a Bernina, your #37 foot or your #97 foot is perfect.
Don’t let your dealer tell you, “Oh, you just need to move your needle position.” You need a foot with an accurate measurement.  It will make your sewing SOOOO much easier.
To register for the class, call or text Cindy at 704-376-2531.
Classes are held at Cool Spring UMC, 1902 Mocksville Hwy., Cleveland, NC 27013.
That’s about 6 miles east of Statesville on Hwy. 64.
Cindy will send a supply list when you register.

The church is easily accessible from I-40 or I-77.

Class will be from 10 am-4 pm but we have the church open by 9 am so you can get set up
and have a cup of coffee before we begin at 10 am.
As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day.
Bring a sandwich or a casserole and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea.

Be sure to bring your “show and tell” quilts. We love to see what you are working on.

Once you are registered, mail a check payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC  27013.  Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class.

Call Cindy – 704-376-253 if you would like to order anything.
As most of you know, we are not a brick and mortar shop.  We are just a studio.

We are available by appointment.   You will not need an appointment during the Shop Hop.  Call us if you need directions.  We are located off I-40 between Statesville and Mocksville, NC.
Our address is 186 Page Farm Road, Cleveland, NC  27013.
We are not anywhere close to Cleveland, NC, even though that is our mailing address.

Wilbur says, “Way to go, Aunt Cindy!  Congratulations on your ribbon!’

Spend the day shopping for quilting fabrics, yarns for knitting, and wools for appliqué.  Books, patterns and notions will inspire you to create.  Shop for a new sewing machine or a long arm sewing machine.  Our vendors are quilt shops and knitting shops.  Some vendors dye their own fabrics and some “grow” their own yarns on their farms.  Some vendors design their own patterns and some just know where to order the “best stuff”.
There will be hourly door prizes and each day at 3pm, Sew Original from Winston Salem and Studio Stitch from Greensboro will be giving away a Bernina Sewing machine.  (You must be present to win a machine.)  Arrive early.  Be one of the first 100 people in the door, and you will get an extra ticket to win all day long.
Cafe 220 will be there with their fabulous food and Troyer’s Bakery will have delicious baked goods.
