This is the 15 Degrees quilt. It is also know as Round and Round. It is our class this month.
It looks difficult but it is all straight line sewing. Details below.
Hello Quilters,
Where in the world have Cindy and Patti been? We enjoyed a weekend at Myrtle beach with the Quilters of South Carolina at their fall retreat. Cindy had some great students in her Jack’s Chain class and I had some great customers in the booth. We enjoyed seeing old friends and catching up.
We have one more quilt show in Asheboro this weekend and one more quilt class, 15 Degrees to finish up 2023. Thanksgiving…Christmas…Then we will hit the ground running in 2024.
One last reminder – if you haven’t taken a look at the classes for Myrtle Beach Quilt Party in January, time is running out. Myrtle Beach Quilt Party
Cindy will be teaching Alaska –

I will be teaching a “Stashbuster series”. –

Recipes
I’ve told you before that Cindy and I work like ants to get food supplies ready for winter. We picked blueberries this summer. We’ve ordered our peanuts from Bertie Co. We’ve picked up our molasses from Mr. Futrell in denton. Now we have to get our cooking organized for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving seems like pie time to me. Here are a couple of recipes from my old church cookbook.
Applesauce Cranberry Pie
4 cups of fresh cranberries
1 cup of sugar
1 t. cinnamon
2 T. flour
2 cups of applesauce
butter
2 pie crusts
Make pastry from your favorite recipe, (or just buy in in the dairy case, like I do).
A light sprinkling of nutmeg before the liquid is added to the dry mix makes an interesting taste. Coarsely chop cranberries. (Frozen cranberries chop easier and with less muss) Add sugar, cinnamon, flour and applesauce. Place filling in pastry lined 9 inch pie pan. Dot with butter. Cover with 2nd round of pastry. Make slits in top of pastryyy to allow steam to escape. Flute edge of pastry. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 – 40 minutes. Serves 6.

Chocolate Pie
1 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of milk
2 T. flour
2 T. cocoa
2 eggs
vanilla
butter the size of a walnut
1 unbaked pie shell
Mix all ingredients. Pour into uncooked pie shell and bake in moderate oven until done. (350 degrees?)

November Events

November class will be Friday, November 17 or Saturday, November 18, 2023.
We will be doing 15 degrees again.

The classes will be held at Cool Spring Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40. Farm News
Many of you know that Cindy and I live in the country. We are the 5th generation to live on this farm Just recently, due to heath issues, our cousins that ran the farm decided to retire. We are pleased to announce that Running T Beef will be expanding onto our farm.

\
This is Josh, Brandi, Wes and Will.

Running T is the new way to farm. They raise grass fed beef. We are excited about the improvements that they will make to our farm. This is farming the way it is supposed to be done.
They are currently taking orders for their Fall beef deliveries. Take a look at their website if you are thinking about beef for this fall/winter. They are taking orders now for beef to be ready by fall. It’s a little different from just running to the grocery store when you need something, but it’s worth the extra effort and planning.
