Hello Quilters,
We are in Charleston setting up for the the Cobblestone Quilt Show.  Join us for beautiful Spring weather and beautiful quilts.

Hello Quilters,
Where in the world are Cindy and Patti?
We are in Charleston.  We always look forward to the Cobblestone show.  We won’t get a chance to get into downtown Charleston, but we are enjoying the weather and spring flowers where we are.  We have packed lots of new fabric and some vintage items.

Recipes
I don’t have a recipe for you this week, but I will tell you about our latest cooking adventure.  First of all, let me say, Cindy and I are not cooks, but we give it our best try.
Everyone has someone in their lives that they treasure.  Our special person is Tootie Robertson.  Tootie just turned 90 years old.  We worked with her sons and granddaughter to give her a special party.  We cooked food for 85 people.  We had chicken pot pie and ham from Costco.  We made country style steak and cooked it all day so it was tender.  Cindy peeled 30 pounds of potatoes and mashed them up with tons of butter.  We fixed greens beans, Texas caviar, marinated carrots, roasted cherry tomatoes, marinated slaw, baked apples, rolls and butter.  Everyone else chipped in with fruit, deviled eggs, pickles, and lots of desserts.  Needless to say, everyone left very full and very happy.
March Schedule
There are no classes scheduled in March.
Quilt Shows – March 15 and 16, 2024 – We will be at the Cobbleston Quilt show in North Charleston, SC.  Details above..
Guild Activity – We will be in Lincolnton, NC teaching a Kaleidoscope workshop on March 23, 2024.

April Schedule

Alaska is our class for April.
Friday, April 5 or Saturday, April 6, 2024
Class is $38.00 plus pattern ($25) and templates ($25)
Contact us if you need a kit.

Alaska is a popular pattern by Edita Sitar. It’s a variation of a kaleidoscope block.  This project looks like curves but it’s all straight line sewing so it’s appropriate for all skill levels, including confident beginners.  Cindy will have a practice block cut for everybody so you can learn the piecing process without having to do a lot of preparation before class.
REMEMBER TO BRING SOMETHING FOR
“SHOW AND TELL”.

Class starts at 10 am and finishes about 4 pm but we’ll have the building open at 9:00 am so plan to arrive in time to have a cup of coffee and set up so we’ll be ready to start at 10:00 am.  The class will be held at Cool Spring Community Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40.

As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day.  Bring a sandwich, or your favorite recipe, and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea.  Quilters are good cooks too so there is always plenty to share.

To register for the class, call or text Cindy Page,
704-376-2531 to reserve your space, then mail checks payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013.   Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class. A supply list with directions to the venue will be emailed to you upon registration.

Also, bring some device that will take photographs of each step of the process.Guild Activity

April 15, 2022 – We will be doing an Antique Textile program for Durham/Orange Co. Guild.

May Schedule
There are no classes scheduled in May.
May 3 and 4, 2024 is our
Church Yard Sale and Plant Sale.
If you love a bargain or a tomato plant, then save these dates.

This is a project that Cindy and I, along with the rest of our church, take very seriously each year.  All the proceeds go to college scholarships for high schoolers in our community.
Would you like to donate items? We are always looking for nice household items.  We will be at the church accepting items on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 from 9am – 2pm.  We will accept almost anything.  We always need kitchen items, towels, sheets, (sheets – it helps if you label what size)  luggage and holiday decor.  We love men’s stuff – screwdrivers, tools, and rusty stuff for decor.  People are also looking for small furniture.  Keep in mind, we don’t have a lot of help to move large pieces of furniture.
The only things we don’t take are outdated electronics and exercise equipment. (Even though the exercise equipment will be “like new”.)
Our early morning clientele will be dealers looking for things to resell.  Mid morning, will be people looking for a bargain and later morning will be people that NEED household things – pots to cook in.  Sheets and towels. Shoes and men’s boots. Winter coats.

Donkey News

Bray Ya’ll,
It’s Lady Mary.  I had a fabulous Valentine’s Day.  I hope that you did too. Don’t you like my special red hat?  Momma treated us to lots of sweet carrots.  She said something about lots of chocolate – but I don’t know what that is.  Wilbur has been a bit under the weather.  His front feet have been sore, but he has some new tennis shoes that are supposed to fix his problems.  Mr. Carson has just been his old, cranky self.  St. Patrick’s Day will be here soon.  We have some outfits for that.
Stay turned.  OXOX – Lady Mary
