Sarah’s Applique QuiltWe had another great display of quilts at our last “Show and Tell”. I am inspired every time.
Hello Everyone,
Sometimes someone will ask me, “What did you do this weekend?” and I won’t be able to remember anything special. This past weekend was the exception. On Friday we had another “Show and Tell” event and on Saturday we took a Barn Quilt painting class. We had fun at booth events.Save the Date for our next “Show and Tell” Event
Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, 2021
Every “Show and Tell” has been an inspiration. We’ve had such a good time, so we are going to do it again. The quilts are always great, but the best part is seeing PEOPLE again. If you came before, come back to visit again. Bring your quilts again. We look forward to seeing you. Bring all the quilts and quilt tops that you have made. We have been inspired by every quilt we see. Bring a yard chair. We’ll be outside at the barn. We’ll put up tents so that you can sit in the shade. We’ll have refreshments. Plan to arrive about 10ish and we’ll start the Show and Tell at 11ish. It will be helpful if you let us know you are coming, so we can prepare, but a reservation is not required. If the weather is bad, we will be here, but use your judgement about whether to come or not.
Someone asked, “Can we shop?” Yes, by all means! Shopping is encouraged!

Barn Quilt Painting
Cindy working on her barn quilt. We took a barn quilt class at Mary Mae’s – A Southern Mercantile.
Owner Connie Edwards could not have been nicer. Her husband, Mr. Dale teaches the classes. Her shop is located at 310-B South Salisbury Ave., Spencer, NC 28159. 704.431.4875. [email protected].
If you are interested in a class, give her a call or search for her on Facebook. Mr Dale primes the wood and has your design drawn on the base. After you finish painting, he applies the sealer, and you pick it up the next week. There are lots of choices for your design. All you have to do is paint. We did 3′ x 3′ barn quilts. I would suggest starting a little smaller for your first one. I think we’ll do another one. Would you like to join us? They have all the paint, brushes, etc. that you need to complete your project.
Here are our finished “quilts”.Quilts of Valor
SC Quilts of Valor presented their quilt display this past weekend at the SC State House. This brings tears to my eyes. SC is the #1 state in total donations to QOV. So much time, talent and generosity. If this is something you would be interested in, search for Quilts of Valor Foundation to find a group near you.

Show and Tell Photos
I don’t have all the names and pattern info, so just enjoy the show.
Don’t you just love quilts?
I love seeing all the fabrics and all the colors. One thing that everyone agreed on this time was that our machine quilters really make us look good. So here is a round of applause for all you machine quilters that smooth out our errors and help us get things finished. Machine quilting really has turned this industry around. So many of you are so creative and so many of you are so generous. Many of these quilts were gifts or donation quilts. Bring whatever you have been working on to our show and tell. You don’t need to have it completely finished – quilt tops are fine.
Come to see us this week. Bring what you are working on to show us.Call Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything or make an appointment to shop.
Save the Date!
