Round and Round (aka the 15 degrees quilt)
Demo this Friday and Saturday at “The Barn “. Details below.
Hello Everyone,
All Carolina’s Shop Hop
The All Carolina’s Shop Hop got off to a good start. We had several people come by this weekend. We had beautiful weather. Everyone enjoyed their “trip to the country”. We look forward to seeing more of you in the next 2 months.
For those of you that have never participated in a shop hop, let me explain how it works…
You get a couple of your friends and you travel from shop to shop. At each shop you get a “stamp” on your passport and each shop will give you a free 4″ collectable quilt block with a unique “quilty” phrase printed on it. You will need to purchase the Shop Hop magazine to get a passport. These magazines are available at each shop. We still have plenty of magazines available. Each participant needs a passport. You have 2 months to visit all the shops. This shop hop includes shops all over North and South Carolina. At the end of November, you mail in your passports. The more stamps you have, the more chances you have to win some great prizes. Many of you are posting pictures from each shop you visit on Facebook. Search for All Carolina’s Shop Hop to see what everyone is doing. It’s fun to see pictures of your favorite shop. We are planning some special guests or a special event each weekend . More about that later.
What can you expect from a trip to our “barn”? First of all, it’s not really a barn. It’s a green metal building. But you really are on a farm. You will see a green building on your right as you come down the hill on Page Farm Rd. Park your car anywhere. Once inside, you will see all the fabrics that you usually see in our booth at a show. We have lots of prints, from traditional styles like mid 19th century to contemporary prints like Kaffe and Tim Holtz. We carry a wide range of batiks as well. We always stock a good variety of neutral background fabrics in cottons and batiks. We have made up a lot of new fabric packs. We have made up a lot of new quilt kits as well.
We have also been going through a lot of vintage stock during our “covid time out”. We have pulled out our vintage trims and embellishments. We’ve pulled out all our buttons. All our French Heirloom laces and eyelets are organized. Plan to spend some time going through some random merchandise. We’ll have a sale table with some wools on it. There are some random things on a clearance table.
Quilt Tops
As you know, when you have a quilt shop you have to make samples. While we might like each quilt, we just can’t keep them all. We have gone through our quilt tops and priced them to sell. Most are priced a little above what the fabric would cost. I’ve pulled out more than 50 quilt tops to sell. Maybe you need a quick quilt. If it’s not quite the right size, you can always add another border. Now is the time to get it to your long arm quilter so it can be under your Christmas tree. Take a look when you are here.
Shop Hop Hours
We will have regular hours at “The Barn” during the shop hop. We will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am – 4pm during October and November. We will also be open on two Sunday afternoons, October 24 and November 21 from 12:00-3:00 pm. You don’t have to be participating in the shop hop to come to the barn. Other participating shops are open their own regular hours. Check your passport magazine for information about hours of operation for the other shops. What should you do if you are traveling on a day we aren’t open? Give us a call, and if it is at all possible, we’ll make an appointment for you to stop by, shop a bit, and pick up your stamp and collectable block. We are usually close by. (We just need a little flexibility.) You can make an appointment to shop in the barn by calling/texting Cindy at 704-376-2531. Or call/text Patti at 704-807-6992. Try both numbers. I live in a house with a metal roof, so my reception is limited. We’re available almost any time. We would love to see you. Call us if you need directions. We are located off I-40 between Statesville and Mocksville, NC.
Please note: We will be closed on Saturday, November 13, 2021 for a wedding. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Quilting Classes
Our next quilting class will be Jack’s Chain. The dates are tentatively February 25 or 26, 2022. You’ve watched as Cindy stitched on this quilt all during the pandemic. This will give you plenty of time to start your 9 patches. The 9 patches are 3′ finished. (3 1/2″ including the seam allowance) We have the pattern and the hex and triangle templates available.
Guild Programs
Keep us in mind for programs for your quilting guild now that groups are starting to meet again.
Call Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything or make an appointment to shop.
