Hello Everyone,
Wow! What a weekend! To sorta quote one of my favorite Tom Petty songs,
“We had a big weekend.
Kicked off some dust.
We had a big weekend.
Cause if you don’t run, you rust.”
We are tired today, but it’s a good tired. We thank you for coming to the show and supporting us with your purchases. Everyone seemed so happy to be out with other quilters. Even behind their masks we could tell the room was full of happy quilters. Crowds weren’t as large as they normally are, but I guess that was to be expected. And to those of you trapped in wreck traffic on I-77, we thank you for persevering.
Mark your calendars for our next shows in January.
January 14 and 15, 2022 – The Quilting and Fiber Art Marketplace in Sanford, NC.
January 28 and 29, 2022 – The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza in Statesville, NC.
FYI – We found a Pandora Bracelet. If it’s yours, please get in touch. 704-376-2531.
All these shops join me in THANKING YOU for your attendance.

September Quilting Class
Above is the class sample for our next class. We have named this one Shooting Star. Dates are Friday, September 24 or Saturday, September 25, 2021. Traditional piecing techniques will be covered. Make this quilt scrappy or planned. It’s a great quilt to use a lot of fabrics from your stash. I used a lot of background fabrics, all mixed and matched. The more variety the better. If you are a beginner, come and make one block. If your more experienced, this is a great quilt to use up some stash.
Class fee is $38.00. Class fee will include a handout.
Class starts at 10 am and finishes about 4 pm. The classes will be held at Cool Spring Methodist Church, 1902 Mocksville Rd, Cleveland, NC—that is Hwy. 64 about 8 miles East of Statesville, and is easily accessible from either I-77 or I-40. As you know, eating lunch is an important part of the day. Bring a sandwich or a covered dish and we’ll provide sides, chips, desert and tea. There is always plenty to share.
To register for the class, call Cindy Page, 704-376-2531 to reserve your space, then mail checks payable to The Quilter’s Gallery to 224 Woodleaf Road, Cleveland, NC 27013. This class is $38.00. Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in the class. A supply list/cutting instructions and directions to the venue will be emailed to you upon registration.
Bring something for “show and tell”. If you need a tractor trailer truck to get all your quilts here, that will be fine. We will start the class “Show and Tell” at 1:30ish. Everyone is invited to the class “Show and Tell” whether you are taking the class or not. You might want to squeeze in a little shopping time as well.
We will not have any classes in October or November because of the All Carolina’s Shop Hop. Our next class will be in February, 2022.
We will do some more “Show and Tell” events during our classes and during the All Carolina Shop Hop dates in the fall. (It will be cool enough to be outside by then.)
Call or text Cindy – 704-376-2531 if you would like to order anything, or make an appointment to shop. Taxes and shipping will be added to orders. Remember, we do not have a shopping cart on our website. If you need us for anything, call and make a shopping appointment.
Shopping Time
You can always make an appointment to shop in the barn for any time that suits you by calling Cindy at the number above. We’re available almost any time. We would love to see you. Call us if you need directions. We are located off I-40 between Statesville and Mocksville, NC.
Guild Programs
Keep us in mind for programs for your quilting guild now that groups are starting to meet again.
All Carolina’s Shop Hop
One last thing, something new is coming this fall. During the months of October and November, we will be participating in the ALL CAROLINA’S SHOP HOP. This will incorporate shops all over NC and SC. Look for the page on Facebook. We will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during October and November. (Except for Saturday, November 13, {we have a family wedding!} and Thanksgiving Day).
I can’t just leave things alone. We are trying to plan some extras to make each weekend an event. Here’s what’s happening so far:
Friday and Saturday, October 8 and 9, 2021, Diane from Empty Pockets Alpaca Farm will be here with her socks, yarn, shawls and all things Alpaca. Christmas is just around the corner, so plan to knock out some gift shopping.
John Bryant, aka – Featherweight Poppy, will be here on Saturday, October 23.
Susan Edmonson will be here on Friday, November 12, 2021
with her fabulous selection of hand embroidery threads and embellishments.
I’ll give you more details and exact times as we pull this plan together.
We just got our magazines! This magazine is your passport to the “Shop Hop”. $9.95. It lists all the participating shops and has patterns as well. You will take it from shop to shop and get your “stamps” so you can win prizes. Participating shops will have them for sale at the Statesville show.
